The Falconer Foundation is non-profit corporation established in 2020. The foundation provides substantial scholarship opportunities to Iredell County high school seniors who demonstrate consistent, persistent, and dedicated commitment to the Arts and to Service. Scholarships are awarded annually in May. Semi-annual concerts at College Street Studios in the spring and fall support our scholarship fund.
The Falconer Foundation was established in 2020 as a 40th birthday gift for Dennis Cowardin. Dennis’s commitment to arts and service is well-known throughout Mooresville, and his generosity knows no bounds. The foundation was thus started to continue his tradition of giving back to his community. The Falconer name was chosen to honor his mother, to whom he is devoted and credits for his personal ethic and drive to excel and serve.
In 2022, thanks to the extraordinary support of donors, the Falconer Foundation bestowed their first significant scholarship in the amount of $10,000 to a very deserving Iredell County senior, Lyric Contarino, to assist with her higher education in arts! And in 2023, again thanks to your donations, we were able to award our second scholarship for $10,000 to another worthy recipient - De'Layla Overcash! Read more!
