The Falconer Foundation is non-profit corporation established in 2020. The foundation provides substantial scholarship opportunities to Iredell County high school seniors who demonstrate consistent, persistent, and dedicated commitment to the Arts and to Service. Scholarships are awarded annually in May. Semi-annual concerts at College Street Studios in the spring and fall support our scholarship fund.
Since 2020, the Falconer Foundation has bestowed $30,000 in scholarships to local students. Another $10,000 will be awarded in 2025. If you are a High School senior enrolled in either an Iredell-Statesville school or the Mooresville Graded School district, and you would like to pursue the 2025 scholarship, applications are now being accepted! Visit the Scholarships page for full details and the application link.
The Falconer Foundation was established in 2020 as a 40th birthday gift for Dennis Cowardin. Dennis’s commitment to arts and service is well-known throughout Mooresville, and his generosity knows no bounds. The foundation was thus started to continue his tradition of giving back to his community. The Falconer name was chosen to honor his mother, to whom he is devoted and credits for his personal ethic and drive to excel and serve.
A dedicated board of directors oversee and operate the Falconer Foundation. Cortney Frasier, an artist and educator serves as the Director. Dennis Cowardin, is our chair. Stephen Alexander serves as Treasurer.
